Ah, I understand. I wasn't trying for related things- I was just trying to think of an area that we all knew about, where hard data had led to a big muddle, and where the instability of data was as obvious as could be. I didn't mean to link the two things in any way other than that.

Because of the horrendous damage we did to the infrastructure of the country, which as you know facilitates food delivery, and health, and all other supports to a citizen's life, I suspect everyone is dying at greater rates now (except the Kurds, who've been off in their own little world for a long time now). Saddam was awful, but at least he had a working bureaucracy.
