DirecTv Mpeg4 has framebuffers built in; and they are now quite successful to take over video compression. But in reality, if you want dolby5.1 or better, set-top box still need multi protocol with Mpeg1, zoom and Dolby 5.1 compression as an alternative from DirecTV Mpeg4 dominance.

DirecTV has very prominent talking heads, and sometimes that video presentation can give you a headache if you watch the screen for any length of time.
