A.J.,methinks you have missed the point. Sure, the average person has no knowledge as to the inner workings of his phone. However, what I think we are dealing with here is the perception in the market place about this stock. It should be worth about $50-$60 a share, but instead, its been stuck in the 30s because of clouds hanging over it arising from challenges to its patents and how it prices its IPRs. The case going on in San Diego is important for many reasons. It is the first of a string of cases to reach the trial level; it is a case that was brought by Qualcomm, so the perception is that Qualcomm thinks it can win it; and, it's being tried in San Diego county, where Qualcomm should expect to find friendly jurors. All of this, I believe, will have a very big impact on the stock price--if Qualcomm loses.
