I had a PM discussion with ldo79 in the issue. Since I am battling this flu -we have a virus running amok in Tehran it seems- for almost a week, I decided to get some medicine. I was leaving for the anti-bodies to fight it off, with only cough medicine and multi-vitamin supplement. Got my Farsi phrase book and got directions from the security downstairs. Pharmacy is only just 50m away and I have never seen it because the name is in Farsi (big and lit) and it is inside the lobby of a residential building. Luckily the pharmacist young lady spoke a bit of English. I told her I could need anti-biotic. And explained the symptoms and how it progressed in the past 5 days. She said the cold has already passed and I just need expectorant to get rid of the mucus in the lungs. I was relieved! She sold me an Herbal expectorant (120ml) which cost USD80c!! The cold medicine I've bought cost me USD25c!!!!!!!!!!!!! Old type that makes you drowsy and ravages your digestive tract like the ones we had 30 years ago! But heavily subsidized.
