pricing is high because because the company did research and proved a new useful benefit for an old drug. The price does not reflect the cost of production, but rather, the ideas and R&D to prove the new use.

PS I really do not differentiate what biotech and pharma do, anymore. It all about developing ideas, to make drugs which generate profits. Without profits, it wouldn't happen at all.
