I don't know. 4 years was enough for me to see the problem, but I'll tell you, the rest of my family voted for Bush. Old habits of voting Republican are hard to break, especially if you don't read voraciously to keep yourself informed. And that is the problem in a nutshell. Many things I tell my family come as a surprise to them and my family is pretty well educated. So I'm thinking that the average American family must be very uninformed as to realities. Instead, they are relying on slogans, smoke and mirrors, instead of Republican actions to inform their election decisions.

But that's not entirely true. The Congressional elections tell us that the average American is pretty sick of this Republican administration. So I think everyone is coming around. There will always be the minority, though, and they are well represented on this thread.
