Nation debt as a percentage of GDP is an important consideration.

OTOH if deficits are declining and the economy is growing then the problem won't be added to, and in fact debt as a % of GDP should decline at least marginally.

Of course if we do enter in to a recession that isn't going to happen any time soon, so if you anticipate one, or even just slow growth going forward, your opinion is understandable.
