Mike: Being an Eagles Fanatic may have saved my life or at least prevented a fractured skull.
I will say i took the worst backward flip on ice i have ever had today---90minutes ago.
i saw the ice(was in sneakers) and thought just little slow step and that will be o.k.
It was a slightly graded DOWN slope down and on contact my feet flew above my head and the back of my head hit the ice first.
I (ex-football RB instints) went immediately to a "sack of potatoes" mode and say i was like that for 3 minutes deciding if i was dead;)
I found where my head actually broke the ice, and then finally realized i had my Eagles Stocking Cap on with a folded layer.
Almost a 1/4 inch of cushion.

i think that is why i am typing now.:)
Showing some signs i bruised my neck. May get a stiff neck from this.
Warning: Never ever underestimate pure ice'es ability to dangerously flip you when in sneakers, even when you see where you are stepping.
A co-efficient of friction of 0 holds NOTHING, i now know! Max
