JDS Uniphase Says 2nd-Quarter Revenue Will Be Higher Than Expected MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) -- JDS Uniphase Corp., maker of optical switching and transmission components, said Thursday it expects fiscal second-quarter revenue to be higher than previously expected. The company sees revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 between $360 million and $365 million, versus previous guidance of $332 million to $352 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial look for revenue of $342 million. Results were helped by higher sales in its communications test and measurement segment. Shares jumped $2.02, or 12.8 percent, to $17.81 in electronic aftermarket trading on the INET. biz.yahoo.com
