Sorry, buddy. I'm a boomer, and you X,Y and Z'ers are going to PAY my social security until enough of us die off so that you outnumber us. That's the way it goes. So, get to work! I have an IRA and other investments. Most middle class Americans have something like that, and should. But many of the poor don't and couldn't afford one anyway. Do they just go to the Soylent Green stations on your plan? The reason SS doesn't seem to work is because it's counted as general revenue, just another tax. THAT does have to change. But I want the government to pay back EVERY DIME of EVERY IOU. All the boomers I know think the same. I don't care if they have to sell our military to China. The first thing they could do is take the regressive 90k cap off and let SS apply to ALL income, including investment income.
