Umm, yeah. Why is this bad? Commodities, by their nature, tend to sell at a predictable rate when averaged out over time. So any increase in sales is an extra bonus. So what if it isn't sustained?

Probably. Which is why they have warehouses, to smooth out blips in demand. So the warehouses would be at a lower level until production increases can return them to normal levels. You do know how this works, don't you?

Give me a break. The list of needed items is pretty obvious, it isn't like it is a huge secret. If nothing else, you have the local businesses sending in orders to the regional warehouses. Don't you have any clue how retail businesses operate?

"Your reducing the availability of scarce goods, your punishing someone who did nothing wrong, and your imposing a cost on society to impose the punishment."

No, they are scum. Anybody who profits off of other people's misery is below contempt. You can use the same argument to favor those in a black market or smugglers.
