i haven't been online much - quit smoking ColdTurkey - brr. It's almost 2 months now & I Broke On Thru To The Other Side. It's About Time. Saw The Handwriting On The Wall !! This trend & investment news is interesting... Ya know, aside from many states & cities in the USA passing laws banning smoking in public places, parks, etc. - In The International Community (England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Benelux, China, India, most/all... etc etc) many more Countries are putting these no-smoking-in-public laws in place now, soon, or have had them for awhile. It's major worldwide. "It's A Good Thing" Hey Investors !!!- ???? "Where's The Mwoooohahah" ??? Smoking's Gone Out Of Style - the World Health Organization calls it a source of air pollution, disease, waste, and litter - which it is. In the 20th Century, IT calmed people down, in the 21st IT'S "nicotine addicts weaning themselves gradually with the help of counseling, antidepressants, & nrt" or it's "self-medicators who usually started smoking before usual diagnostic onset of schizophrenia and ADHD". How embarassing that smoking's now substance abuse addiction & not simply a bad habit - but lets face it we really knew that for a long time - Exit Stage Right. So many books, products, swamis, spas, and clinics assist people to stop smoking. The NRTs (nicotine replacement therapy - patch, gum, inhaler, etc.) and the antidepressants and the nicotine agonists to get the addicts off it are BigMed Biz. The cig mfgrs. have (gov't. mandated) quit-assist sections on their websites which are so absolutely masterful in the ambivalence of wording/design, they deserve a tip o' the hat. Whoever's researching non-cancerous and targeted derivatives of nicotine to treat some conditions which seem to be less or more common in smokers and tobacco users, get in line. Genetic research is targeting mechanisms of addiction, watching a few genes inherited by some prone to smoking, and wondering if dopamine receptors or MAO or angiotensin inhibitors or myelin transmitters require rejuvenation & if they can be revived after MS or nicotine burnout or the like, how can it be done by patentable genetic mofifications. It's been interesting learning about all this from links on blogs ranting on about the smoking habit. Gotta wonder what use will those tobacco plants/fields be put to next?
