I'd hardly call a 1.1% CPI adjusted annual rate of change in retail an on fire condition or no impact.

The rlx has broken out to an all-time high this week.

Plus it makes zero sense to adjust retail sales by cpi. Too many things are in the cpi like health care and education that are not a component of retail sales.

There is very little retail inflation today. All you have to do is look at the LIFO charge for retailers using the LIFO method of inventory accounting.
