Looks like the cold spell coming in now may put a stop to the falling oil price. As far as the IDF is concerned, they should put Uri Geller in charge. He'll take one look at Hezbollah and they'll simply fade away. As for Olmert himself, I can think of no better replacement than David Copperfield. Only he will be able to give the Israelis the illusion of security they dearly crave.

The truth of the matter is that Israel is in the deep crap whatever they do. They dare not make peace and give back the stolen land and can't go on making wars forever. That's why they are playing their best card now -- bribing Mahmood Abbas with $100 million of stolen Palestinian money. Maybe the Israelis will be lucky and he will double-cross his own people into "recognising" the state of Israel with the Wall as it is and all the West Bank settlements intact. Of course, all of Jerusalem must remain firmly in Israeli hands -- and as for reparations and Palestinian right-of-return, those will not even be considered. And if he gets all this right he will be offered a permanent seat on the Security Council -- a non-veto seat, naturally. And a Nobel "Peace" Prize goes without saying.
