Russian invention. Similar to jet piercing. They drill a pilot hole down the vein then introduce a fuel/air mixture at the bottom of the hole and thus enlarge the hole by spalling off the rock due to the high temp. meanwhile vacuum out the spalled material. And quebec gov is paying a portion of the cost.

Major advantage is that you can hook the vacuum discharge up directly to the packs on the mules, thus saving enormous amount in materials handling. You should talk to your buddy Mulanski about this!
