More nicotine in cigarettes might make them more addictive, or it might mean people with an addition for a certain amount of nicotine smoke less cigarettes. If that was the case it could actually be beneficial. I'm not saying it is beneficial, but considering it to be automatic evidence of a horrible evil conspiracy with obvious harmful effects isn't reasonable.

And that's assuming that the report is accurate, and that the change is deliberate. I'm not sure that either is true.

But then the cigarette companies do deserve some of the bashing they get. They do produce a harmful product, and they have been dishonest.
