You really believe that's the "main" difference?

Maybe one difference is that liberals (some liberals) are a little more circumspect about how they define those situations that might involve dying on one's feet/living on one's knees. For example, I've seen that cliche applied to Iraq, and yet I see no reason American's knees would be in danger if we had not invaded. But I'm sure nuance and circumspection are probably just more liberal "failings". Yes, I'm sure of it.
