Last big(ger) so called Hurricane in the South of Europe mainly was "Lothar" in 1999. At wind speeds up to 160 miles/hr that one was 35% heavier than Kyrill. Mind those speeds all measured at summit weather stations of the Alps or the Harz between East and West Germany. That for sure is different from a flatland FL hurricane of the same strength. Taro
