The dichotomy between "yes, Saddam was a horrible person and the world is better off without him" and "the Iraqis were better off with him" simply cannot be reconciled logically or rationally.

What is so irrational?

Just because things were awful under Saddam does not give us the right to get rid of Saddam and make things worse for the Iraqi people.

Many of us had the right intentions (including me - I didn't speak out against what we did - I may even had supported what we intended to do) but the results made things worse for all of us - Iraqi's and us.
