"they root against America"

Bush has governed in a way that has turned a lot of people seriously off who are center to left in the political spectrum.

To see him and his style of governing fail utterly and completely would be seen as a positive for the country by probably a lot of people. The hope would be the "neo-con" style would be buried for a long time to come and folks would analyze "what went wrong".

The fact is Bush has had his fair shot. Not only has he had a sympathetic Republican Congress - government agencies from the CIA to the Pentagon have been stacked with Cheney loyalists. If things are FUBAR its Bush's fault - its his baby and hes's had four years. Doing things like surrounding yourself with loyalists, yes men, and only like minded idealogues for instance may now be seen as only a recipe for failure. That style of governing may never come back as Republicans revert to more a realist/pragmatic approach to foreign policy to replace Cheney's failed, narrow ideology driven 1% doctrine.

I'm sure some people think that if the Iraq War was a stock it would have lost 95% of it's value and would be a a strong "sell". That supporters of the war only sound like "pumpers" who still dream of a turnaround and are urging people to throw good money after bad.

It may be best for the country that Iraq has gone poorly in the long run because we shouldn't pursue bad policy as a matter of principle.
