Eclipse employment tops 1,000 phoenix.bizjournals.com Eclipse employment tops 1,000 New Mexico Business Weekly - 2:36 PM MST Friday Eclipse Aviation Inc. has hired its 1,000th employee and is hiring more almost as fast as it can sign them up. Eclipse Vice President of Marketing Mike McConnell told a group of business leaders of the milestone today, at the governor's address to the business community in Albuquerque. "We are averaging about 20 new hires every Monday," McConnell said. That milestone comes on the heels of another -- the delivery of Eclipse's first plane to a customer this month. McConnell said 41 more of its Eclipse 500, six-seat jets were on the assembly line in various stages of production. "Hang on, because we plan to build hundreds of planes and deliver hundreds and hundreds of planes this year," McConnell told the group. Gov. Bill Richardson also praised Eclipse's progress in his remarks. The governor said he hopes the current session of the state Legislature will pass a tax credit for companies involved in aviation services in order to help Albuquerque and the state leverage Eclipse's success and build an aviation industry around the company's success.
