I have no idea if Obama has the chops to be President, now or later....but do the posters on this thread who were such supporters of President Bush back in 2000 realize he had, at the time he bagan to run, 4.5 years of experience in government, and all of that at one level? Prior to that he had been involved in business, some successful, some not. He has admitted the first 40 years of his life were not spent as productively as he would have liked in retrospect. Yet he was deemed seasoned enough to be President.

Obama has eight years of State Government, two years in the Senate (and would have another 1.5 by the time he was elected in 2008, if that happened). He has worked in the private and public sector, apparently to success at every level. His academic credentials are excellent..

Politics aside, is it the Bush experience that makes Obama seem less qualified in 2008 than Bush was in 2000?
