this is a good example of reality catching up to "hype". the hype de jour of 2005 was how AMD/SUNW alliance was something special and it would catapult sun micro into the stratosphere. the reality of course is that it was just a CHIP that goes in a server. the "new" reality is that sun continues to make moves that deemphasize sparc and there will be a charge off someday when they own up to sparc going away. as it is it barely gets a mention anymore. you can be sure that sun micro will one day make an itanic system. that will make going back through the archive of this board a very funny and entertaining experience. regards
