What he doesn't understand is that "vendors" (the assumption is major companies) would not gouge. The gouge laws are set up for the small slime that set out to profit from peoples misery... large corps don't do that. Part self interest but also a large part that they are made up of good people. We have gouging laws here in Florida for gasoline. After Katrina there were maybe two or three independent gas stations prosecuted... they were hording when people needed gas hoping for a better price tomorrow (pretending they were out). 2 or 3 out of 1000's of gas stations. The rest were doing what they are supposed to do; sell people gas. Tim projects his greed to the rest of the population. You or I, or most folks on this thread, would never consider profiteering in a crisis situation within our community (however big you define community). 99% of Americans wouldn't do that. They would try to help their neighbors as best they could. It's the glue that hold the country together... it's what makes us different than Iraq, for instance. John
