If businesses can not give as much coverage to employees tax free, than likely less money will flow from the companies to the insurance companies for health care insurance (you would at least get a reduction of in the growth of dollars for that purpose, even if you don't get a direct year on year reduction).

Or to put it simply health care insurance companies make less money.

Insurance companies might like being able not to pay after collecting premiums, but they don't like not receiving the premium in the first place, or receiving a lower premium.
