Half trillion dollars spent on the war in Iraq is massive.

Yes.

Everything else pales by comparison.

Hardly. For example more has been spent on education in the US in the same period. (I'm not saying anything is wrong with more being spent on education, or I'm against more going to education than to the Iraq war, I'm merely point out the facts)

I can't speak to all the states but I do know some states are seeing improvement.........however, its 'the low hanging fruit'.

Not very low hanging if it too doubling the real per capita money for 2 or 3 generations.

I was suggesting that you have the appropriate attitude.

You have no good way of knowing what my attitude is, and in any case its irrelevant. The simple facts I've pointed out are true whatever attitude I have.

You are absolutely convinced that administrators and teachers are pissing the money away.

There is a big jump from "the resources could be used more efficiently", to "I'm absolutely sure the administrators and teachers are pissing the money away". Not only does the latter imply a much higher level of inefficiency, it also assigns blame to specific groups of individuals.

You really believe teaching is an easy job that anyone could do

I don't, and I've never posted anything that suggested that I do.

and that there is nothing wrong with today's kids.

Again, not my thought, or something I have written or implied.

You think that 3 out of 4 teachers are incompetent

Your really on a roll here. Once again you assign arguments and motives to me that aren't mine.

and tenure has a lot do with their incompetence.

I don't even think I've mentioned tenure in this recent conversation.

That's what I meant by "people like you".

A more accurate term might be "people I falsely imagine you to be like".
