The crime was gouging, not "price increases". Gouging is just a negative term for price increases. You can argue all day, but society criminalized the abhorrent behaviour that you support. What does that tell you? That political decisions are sometimes stupid. Do you support Bush because "society" voted for him? Do you support every law or legal idea that gets enacted? I doubt it.
