Before you convince me to change an existing system, the onus is on you to predict what the effects will be.

If we're going to play the game of assigning the burden of proof, howabout -

Before you can convince me to accept an unlimited government intervention, the onus is on you to argue that doing so is better than limiting it.

As for "what the effects will be", well its always hard to predict exact effects, and if you insist on that its the same as saying "never change anything". But reasonably less of a tax benefit should have a modest effect towards controlling price increases.
