Remember, blue states don't count in 2008 and not a single swing state is decided by minority voters. Only bright blue states would elect a black and that is proven. Massachusetts and Illinois are the only ones who have ever elected a black to statewide office, at least that I'm aware of.

The problem for Obama is that he would jeopardize 3-4 light blue states which have few black voters; Iowa, Minnesota, Maine and New Hampshire. A McCain or Romney type might easily pick those off from Obama. and Ohio would be very tough for Obama too. You can also forget about possible Dem states like Colorado, Montana, and Virginia.

That is why, as charismatic and positive as Obama is, the country is not ready and he's not read. But he might be able to help as VP then wait eight years. By then, the smears might not harm him as much and the demographics of the country would be a little more in his favor. Or Richardson.

As hard as it will be for Hillary to win a general election, it would be even harder for Obama, almost impossible in fact. That's why we need to look for the best white male in 2008. Perhaps with Obama as a VP.
