The Zitel/Matridigm fraud.

The Matridigm "factory" paradigm is a red herring. It's a meaningless way to distinguish their Cobol code conversion tool from other code conversion tools. By the way, that doesn't mean I believe Matridigm's claims...since there still is no evidence that Matridigm has successfully converted a single line of code.

Resources are not getting scarcer, simply because the demand is not accelerating. That's why prices are falling.

One of the big lies about the Y2K hoax which I've discussed many times before is this notion that as the end of the century looms closer, companies will be frantically competing for scarce Y2K programmers and tools. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is no Y2K problem which magically appears on 1/1/2000. Computers and their software have been doing century date calculations since the dawn of the computer age. The Y2K "problem" has ALWAYS been a problem, and a relatively trivial one at that. Notice that no one has yet answered the question, "Why haven't we seen these dire Y2K consequences TODAY - since computers are currently calculating things like 30 year mortgages, bond maturities, financial projections, etc. etc. etc. NOW?!?"

Despite claims to the contrary, COBOL programming is not a highly sought-after skill; furthermore note the large number of competitiors in the Y2K remediation business who still can't seem to make a buck in it (evidenced by the rapidly falling prices for these tools).
