The only holdout of the analyst's following VANS is Hambrecht & Quist. This is their July report but I imagine the 9/23/97 report is more of the same... This is from Zacks:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hambrecht & Quist issued Company Report

On July 16, 1997 Hambrecht & Quist analyst Shelly Young issued a 3 page Company Report on VANS INC. Report highlights: " The 1998
EPS estimate was lowered from $1.02 to $0.90 to reflect concerns regarding the domestic footwear market. There was a glut of retail
inventory and slow down in consumer demand. A HOLD rating was reaffirmed. "

Shelly Young has not made enough stock forecasts to be meaningfully ranked relative to 7 other analysts following Vans, Inc.

Shelly Young is ranked 4 out of 8 when forecasting EPS for Vans, Inc.

Shelly doesn't have that good of a record. I guess she is indeed Young. She probably thinks Vans is something to drive.

I was at the most "happinin" Shoe store buying some vans & ask the manager how they were selling. He said they were out selling Airwalk more then 2 to 1. I think this quarter will be a suprise also.
