Heavy duty Mike, o my.
i had a feeling myself when Reid ORDERED McNabb NOT to have a press conference.
It is NOT like Reid to publicly say he had ordered McNabb to cancel his press conference and saying he needs to keep his mind on getting his leg rehabbed.
McNabb it seems can not say well i have 100milion bucks, so let's be mellow, don't worry about my future until i have fully rehabbed.
It is now about he is 31, he has broken down two seasons in row, he has a serious injury, one that Duante Culpepper has yet to recover from---over 20 months after surgery.
McNabbed is worried about his future in the NFL history books, gawd knows it is not about his being secure for ever in this life, until death---he has been exremely smart with his money, he is A BANK:).
i ask myself what would i do??
Me, hell, if had that huge pot of money i would tell club 'i can see why you would worry about will i be ready next year, or do i get rid of this limp' (The fact Reid did say that McNabb can not walk without a limp except when in a pool, does have to WORRY the the team. The whole Franchise is at stake here. They MUST have a back up plan, and that is Garcia).
We both are big McNabb fans, we really are, i KNOW that; but i am first and foremost a Philadelphia Eagles Phanatic!!, no individual is EVER above the team with me.
My big concern is McNabb is physically a big man, his knees carry a load as a result.
Similar size wise to Culpepper, and frankly Culpepper looked majorly NOT ready to play again after about 15 months of rehab.
As a Eagles Fan am i profoundly confident McNabb can REALLY comeback????
Mike, i am not confident he can, and i also think if he did he could go down again.
This is the brutal side of football, injuries ruin careers.

As i have said before, i view Garcia as having one of those wiry smallish, but water bug moving and indestructible bodies.
i am convinced he is a young 36, he has three more seasons, for sure, i believe.
The only rap against Garcia is at 5'11" the hands are up 6'5" DLs block his view and he can't throw over them.
He has shown he has somehow adapted his game to this problem.
And yes i have read quotes from several players saying the LIKE his exuberant and feistiness on the field, and that they like he WILL get in a players face if he thinks he is "f------ up"
McNabb view is "what good does do to get on a guy" and he just remains mum.
Bottomline, McNabb is 31, he feels the clock ticking on his carreer, he does want the Hall of Fame, and he knows he is at the cross roads on that now.
i will state, that given the huge bet the Eagles made when they gave him the richest contract in NFL history at that time, they do not have to answer to charges they are not treating him fair.
But bottomline McNabb remains an Eagle even if he demanded to be traded, unless they get real major value in return, such as the as a Number 1st round draft pick for the present year and another Number 1 for the following year--in otherwords, 2 number 1 picks.

Problem is , could he pass his physical??? That is an unknown.

Vikings ended up giving away Culpepper because they KNEW he was definitely "damaged goods"

What are your thoughts, Storm??:) Max
