No sane company would try to start a competitive SDARS entity now, having spotted the competition a five year lead and having to come up with the huge startup costs. If that is the price the regulators demand, then the deal would be done.


One of the problems, I think, with the merger scenario. You end up with SIRI's 3 satellites as space junk and a useless DARS license to boot.

I wonder if anyone is counting that as part of their "synergies".
