RDT.v .105 +.005, Radiant Reports Deicing of First Aircraft at JFK International Airport

PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 23, 2007) - Radiant Energy Corporation ("Radiant" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RDT) developer and marketer of InfraTek(R), the patented, infrared pre-flight aircraft deicing system, is pleased to report that Radiant's newest deicing facility, located at JFK International Airport, commenced operations with its first deicing event.

An A320 passenger jet with passengers on board was the first aircraft to use the system at JFK to remove snow from the exterior of the airplane prior to taking off. Radiant's system is the only approved alternative to traditional glycol spray for deicing aircraft. Several other aircraft were also deiced using Radiant's new infrared system, which eliminated the use of glycol completely on most of the treatments. The times to deice were observed to be comparable and better than if glycol had been applied.

"We are proud to see the start of operations in the world's largest environmentally friendly aircraft deicing machine," said Colin Digout. "The start of operations demonstrates the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and our airline customers' commitment to the environment."

This is the second facility Radiant has installed at airports operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey ("PANYNJ"). The first system has been in place at Newark Liberty International Airport since 1999. The system at John F. Kennedy International Airport is able to deice aircraft as large as a B747-300 using patented infrared energy technology to remove frost, snow and ice.

The PANYNJ operates many of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region. They include John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia and Teterboro airports.

The InfraTek Deicing System is the only FAA-approved for use, non-glycol based alternative to the conventional pre-flight ground deicing process. InfraTek offers substantial savings to airports and airlines by reducing treatment costs and reducing the negative environmental impact of conventional glycol deicing. The InfraTek Deicing System is in use at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey and Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, with an installation about to open at the Oslo Airport in Gardermoen, Norway.
