You end up with SIRI's 3 satellites as space junk and a useless DARS license to boot.

I believe that SIRI's satellites will have to begin being replaced within about five years, and the savings of not having to do that would be huge.

XM's last two satellites, having just been launched within the last two and a hslf years, will be servicable for a considerably longer time.
