NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--JW Charles Securities Inc. initiated coverage of
Somerset Savings Bank (SOSA) with a buy rating.
In a research note, analyst Deborah Beylus estimated the company will earn
35 cents a share in 1997 and 65 cents a share in 1998.
The firm set a 12-month price target of 9 on the shares, which recently were
trading at a 52-week high of 5, up 21/32, or 15.1%, on volume of 605,000.
Average daily volume is 177,000. The previous 52-week high of 4 3/8 was set
Monday.
Somerset Savings Bank has branches in Somerville, Mass., where it is based,
and in Burlington, Mass.
