Rubbish. Bush acted hastily to head off the UN inspectors firming up their conclusion that there were no WMD. Without this as cover, the war could not be launched. Cheney knew that and kept the pressure on to repeat the lies as often as possible -- to create the impression that we knew with certainty about the WMD when exactly the opposite was the case. When you defend Bush on this you do nothing but attempt to perpetuate the lie -- the big lie. And the big lie was this -- the big lie was to say that invading Iraq was necessary to defend America and to use every scare tactic and deception possible to make people afraid to challenge this lie.
