I am in a grouchy mood.
Last month, I got my Cingular bill and it was at least $30 more than it should be. Turns out my daughter sent and received over 1,600 text messages. That would be from Nov. 18 to Dec. 18.
That is one-thousand-six-hundred plus text messages.
In a one-month period.
I am sure most of them are along the lines of
"Hi, whatr u doing?"
"Not much, U?"
I told her if she went over again, I was disabling text messaging.
Well...
This month's Cingular bill came and...
She's doing better. Only 1433 this time!!!
And, get this, I pay $15/month for her to have 1,000 messages., so this idiotic form of communication that kids seem to be using costs in the range of $35-$40/month. You'd think 1,000 messages would be enough, but Nooooooooo....
So tomorrow, bright and early, I am following through with my threat.
To be especially mean, I plan to send her a final message that says, please stand-by to have your text messaging capabilities disabled.
It's not the money as much as the principle. Know what I mean? |
