Alan, good for you! I wish more parents would set that kind of example for their kids. She's not bad... just doesn't seem to respect your reasonable rules. How else will she learn?

I told her what I was going to do, and now I am following through.

B follows A.

What is difficult is incoming text messages are counted in the total, and she has no control over who texts her.

But, as they say, not my problem...

I'm not going to pay $35-40/month just so the kids can babble about nothing.

BTW, this appears to be a real money maker for the cell companies. These messages do not use nearly the cellular bandwidth that voice calls do, and they're an add-on service. It's a cash cow, largely because mom and dad are paying the freight. If the kids had to pay extra for it, I doubt they'd use the service as much.
