Short of another 9/11, can you imagine a set of messages or issues that would pull the political center away from the "let's get something done" focus and back to the "support Bush or you'll die!" mentality? David Brooks in his NY Times column this morning paints a very bleak picture of Iraq but he frames it in such a way as if Bush had nothing to do with creating such conditions and insinuate that Bush is caught in the middle of this mess and has a plan that could succeed. He is far more dangerous than Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly , etc could ever be.
