Not one word of your post excuses the big lie. What the inspectors found was nothing -- and the more they found nothing the more it started to become clear to them that there was nothing to find. They certainly were clear on one thing -- there was no active nuclear program. As they found nothing the urge for ideologues to invade grew intense -- if the inspectors could verify with some confidence that there was nothing then there would be no way to sell the big lie, and sanctions would be lifted.
