There is an environmental organization in my area that is doing just that. They just built a $500,000 solar/hydrogen system capable of supply all the power needed for automotive, electrical and heating/cooling.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to go from solar to hydrogen for energy storage purposes. For one thing hydrogen is not the safest storage medium. For two, electricity can be stored in batteries for quite a lot less than their system.

This was just an effort ot prove the concept works in the real world.
