That is an excellent question Rose. One that should be answered with some consensus among all persons desiring legitimate debate over whether or not it was a good decision to invade and whether or not the reasons to maintain operations are justified.

Since partisans will answer the question in entirely different ways even incompatible ways, then go right on debating, it all just looks like a pissing match to me. 'May the longest pisser win,' says I, yee haw and pass the pop corn. But I'll offer some guide lines to help the tournament of pissers get organized...

A) Conspiracy theorists: "The REAL reason we invaded was (fill in the blank), and that's why we are still there.

B) Left wingers: Because Bush et al are Lying Fascists.

C) Right wingers: It was believed at the time that of invasison that the security of our nation was at risk. Leaving now would guarantee it.

D) Garden variety popularists: Whatever today's available media release says is what I say.

E) Man on the street who stopped voting 2 decades ago: There are complex reasons for everything that is going on, some of them are based on the corrupt motives of powerful leaders, some of them seem more justified.
