"Don't you want some measurement tool to tell whether things in Iraq are improving or deteriorating?" The regional commanders will certainly gather such information and use it to allocate resources. You and I don't need that information on a daily basis any more than we needed body counts during WW 'Nam. We aren't running the operations. And I sure don't want that info in the newspapers for additional propaganda fodder for our enemies, including our domestic enemies in Congress. You seem to think of this as some sort of board game. It isn't, and it can't be "played" as if it were.
