You and I don't need that information on a daily basis

No one said "daily basis", but we do need some information about what is going on in Iraq if we are going to be asked to have a view on it. How can you make any judgment on whether the new US surge plan is helping/hurting/neither without information?

And I sure don't want that info in the newspapers for additional propaganda fodder for our enemies, including our domestic enemies in Congress.

If the information demonstrated progress I think you would see support for US involvement in Iraq surge, thus increasing chances of success. One reason for the current opposition to continued presence in Iraq is that many Americans feel little is being accomplished for the lives and money spent. Are you saying no information on improvement or deterioration in Iraq is better than some information on improvement or deterioration?
