Skeeter Bug how do you figure the strong dollar is killing TI.There was just a speech given by Anams where he said that 30% of their business was in the Pacific Rim and that is where several backends and wafer fabs are located. Can you explain how the strong $ is killing them?----I have set through several Forecast reviews where managers tried to use the exchange rate for an excuse but those days are over at TI it is no longer regarded as a reason for missing profit and was never a real reason. The exchange rate is almost always a smoke screen for poor performance or poor planning.
Dram is killing TI????Dram is 15 to 20% of their business and most of it is joint venture so the impact of the profit is diluted and the impact of the marginal periods is also.Don't forget that in a joint venture you share profit and expenses and some of those "strong dollars" were used to pay expenses in weaker currencies.
Sorry if I seem pushy but I take exception with your whole unsupported message.
