HMI.V has ground near the Noronto discovery as I mentioned but the excitement seems to be about adrilling a platinum palladium project-
They have hired a driller-
-- HINTERLAND TO DRILL PLATEAU PROJECT PGE DISCOVERY IN QUEBEC
Hinterland Metals Inc. has awarded Forages Orbit Inc. of Val d'Or, Que., the contract to drill at the Plateau PGE (platinum group elements) project, located 35 kilometres southeast of Matagami, Que. The drilling will focus on Hinterland's unprecedented discovery of reef-type platinum and palladium mineralization, as reported in Stockwatch on Nov. 21, 2006, where drill hole EB06-05 intersected 1.9 grams per tonne combined PGE over three metres. Initial drilling will be concentrated in the area of the discovery but will be expanded to include targets identified by a proprietary screening methodology developed by Hinterland. An induced polarization survey will be completed by Geophysiques TMC Inc. of Val d'Or, Que., in conjunction with the drilling. Drilling is expected to commence on or before Feb. 1, 2007.
Hinterland has also started exploration at the Ole VMS project located north of Amos, Que. Currently a grid is being cut in preparation for surface magnetic and electromagnetic surveys. These geophysical data will be used to plan a drill program expected to commence on or before Feb. 15, 2007.
Drilling was also expected to commence at the Lockout gold project, located east of Quevillon, Que., but has been postponed due to access problems caused by the suspension of winter maintenance of Domtar Inc.'s logging road network.
Finally, Hinterland has commenced compilation work on the Euro uranium project that covers the southwest margins of the Paskwati Proterozoic sedimentary basin. The Paskwati is an outlier basin located 45 kilometres southwest of the main Otish basin in central Quebec. The Otish basin is analogous to the Athabasca basin and is recently the spotlight of uranium exploration in Quebec, most notably by Strateco Resources Inc. at the Matoush project. The compilation will guide exploration for unconformity type uranium deposits above and below the basin unconformity surface as well as for "Matoush" fault-type uranium deposits well above the basin rim. The first phase of exploration will include a high-definition magnetic and radiometric airborne survey over the entire property in order to generate prospecting targets.
