re: It's a tragedy that we've already fired Bush, as evidenced by the American vote to sweep Democrats into the majority in both houses of Congress. But why in hell do we have to wait for 2 more years to get progress on the issues we want progress on? I hate that. The things that need to be done wrt energy are hard. I'm not sure the Dems have the guts to do it... in fact I'm almost sure they don't. And if they do there is the veto, and you won't be able to get crap though the Senate over a Presidential veto. So I think there will be compromise incremental progress on energy in the next 2 years... then the issue will be front and center in the '08 election. And "the people" get it. So '09 will probably be the year that the real progress starts. Nothing happens fast in this country (except war)... it is what it is.
