"Right now though --- just an attempted SMEAR run by a Moonie-owned magazine. (And... maybe started by a political OPPONENT, maybe NOT. No way to know because Insight, the Moonie-owned mag., refuses to name names.)"

Sounds like they tore a page from the "Swift Boat" school of smear.

Its a beauty - you raise racist based fears about Obama and attribute it to Hillary - talk about killing two birds with one stone.

I suspect Flopper couldn't sleep the last few nights he was so excited by these "facts" about liberals.

The unfortunate thing is that this sort of tactic actually seems to work. Democracy is probably still the best form of Government but it disturbs me the way some work so hard to pervert it. I believe John Stuart Mill suggested that those with higher education should get a "larger" vote - that might not be a bad idea.

I recall voters being interviewed after the last election and one lady actually said she voted for Bush because Kerry was a "flip-flopper". Everyone in the world - and especially politicians - and especially Bush lately - are "flip-flopper's" - its a totally meaningless accusation and may in fact show mental health in that one has the ability to change one's mind as new facts are gathered. This actually seems a great character flaw in Bush. Being a Flip-flopper was an accusation Sideshow Bob leveled against Bart in a Simpson's episode that way pre-dated the 2004 elections - thats how ridiculous it is. Yet the "flip-flopper" issue may be the reason Bush and Cheney are in power right now.
