Bears need to show Lovie the money blogs.suntimes.com I don't care about "genius" labels or connections to genius or potential. I care about results, and that's what Lovie Smith has given the Bears. And that's why this contract squabble is embarrassing the organization. Lovie Smith is the lowest paid coach in the NFL, so doubling that salary is an insult. He has done nothing but win, and win with class. He should be rewarded. He's had to coach through season-ending injuries to key players, ridiculous off-field controversies and the lack of a consistent starting quarterback. And he's done that well enough to guide the Bears to the Super Bowl. He's done the job. Pay him.
